DIRTYBIRD CAMPOUT

This year’s Dirtybird campout was at a different venue than the past two years. It was further up north, right next to where LIB is held. At first my friends and I who live in Los Angeles were a little bummed we had to drive an extra 2.5 hours but after the weekend I’m definitely happy about the venue change. The venue was huge and there were many trails (from the camping grounds to the festival grounds) to explore. There were also legitimate showers scattered around the camping grounds, which added to the glamping experience.

Despite the venue change and increase of campers, Dirtybird managed to still keep an intimate vibe. There were two stages: the main Birdhouse stage and the smaller, Bass Lodge Stage. This year you could definitely find my friends and I posted at the Bass Lodge. Saturday night was definitely the highlight of Dirtybird Campout for me this year. There was a haystack in the middle of the dancefloor that my friends and I stood on for a solid 5 hours. We were elevated enough that we had a perfect view of the DJs, crowd and were a good distance from the speakers. During that time on the haystack we saw Barclay Crenshaw, Shades, DJ Marky, and The Martin Brothers’ DnB set. I’ve been really into DnB and Breakbeats lately so the music during this time was so mind blowing, I swear to God I felt like I was riding a spaceship, or maybe I was just melting into the hay. Either way the Bass Gods were sending and I was receiving.

This weekend I really only set two goals for myself: No complaining and reminding myself I’m in the right place at the right time! Doing this really allowed myself to live in the moment more and made the weekendhat much better! You know I will be back next year, until then DBC...Thank you so much for the good beats and vibes you really are one of my favorite festivals.

ECLIPSE GATHERING

It’s crazy how much shit life will throw at you at once. I almost didn’t think I was going to make it to Oregon Eclipse but I knew I had to go since I had been planning this since January.

I flew into Oregon from LA and my friends, Stephen and Kyra picked me up in their Sprinter Van.  The line was as crazy as everyone said it was, I think we waited for a solid 10-12 hours before getting in. However I was asleep the whole time, haha...shout out Stephen, thanks for maning the van and letting Kyra and I sleep. However the wait was good because when we got in Thursday morning and it was daylight, we were able to link up with the crew we had been planning to camp with pretty easily. We set up home for the next 5 days and then explored the festival grounds.

My favorite stage was the Sun Stage, which was put on by Envision Festival. The stage had wood engravings with projection mapping, which made it so magical! The music there was mostly Tribal/World Dub and it was so grounding. Being grounded was absolutely what I needed the most right now. Something that I immediately noticed about this festival was that there were people from all over the world. This festival was really special because everyone here was gathered to watch an incredible celestial event.

PICS Coming soon

Lighting in a Bottle '17

LIB LIB LIB, where do I begin? You changed my life the first time I attended two years ago and I haven’t looked back since. I know it’s pretty cliché to say that but attending LIB for the first time was one of those defining moments that set myself on a certain path for the rest of my life.

I could go into so much detail but I'll leave it at this: Lightning in a Bottle taught me that what you make is really magic and really believe in yourself. Trust in the Universe that you're in the right place at the right time but the time is now.

PICS Coming soon!

Coachella Weekend 1

I decided to head out to the desert pretty last minute this year, but boy am I glad I did.

My friend Jane was throwing a party for Gin + Tonic Labs at a house in Bermuda Dunes, so I drove out Saturday afternoon to enjoy some festivities. Later that night, I dressed the squad in some looks and we ended up going to P Diddy's Revolt Party at the Laguna Seca Estates. I snagged a wristband for Sunday and headed to Coachella for Day 3.

I also brought the latest piece I had been working on: a gold sequin jacket with a smiley patch and EL wire. Check out the Do Lab Weekend 1 Recap Video, about 0:12 seconds in you can see me dancing at Shiba San! Also check out the pics below to see the house I stayed in as well as the Teepees we slept in under the moonlight.

Desert Hearts Fest '17

Oh Desert Hearts Festival, you are quite the magical place. My first experience with this community was three years ago and it left me feeling truly inspired. Thank you desert hearts for showing me that it is important to believe in my art.

This one was my first Spring experience. The weather was certainly warmer, and the camping grounds expanded, so we were able to snag a sweet camping spot in a grassy patch amongst the trees.

Desert Hearts definitely puts an emphasis on Fashion thanks to the Glitter Spies who encourage the dance floor to be your runway.  I got to feature some looks in the Fashion show and special shoutout to my friend Kyra who walked in it with me.  Kyra is wearing a Custom Sequin poncho, and sequin romper and I am wearing a one piece with the Celestial Kimono. See the looks below.
